| Small Breed Rescue of South Carolina was formed because we saw a need for rescue and rehabilitation of toy breeds, whose needs are unique from larger dogs. We are strictly no-kill. We are not a shelter. All of our pets live indoors in private family homes where they receive love, training, and excellent care. We do not have a shelter or outdoor kennels. Our pets are adopted by families in the Southeast and occasionally from longer distances. Go to the links above to learn more. We have a 30-day return policy. If you decide the pet is not right for you and your home, you are welcome to bring him back unharmed within 30 days of the adoption for a full refund of the adoption fee. You can read more about this on the page titled "Adopting a Pet". OUR FEATURED PET Pal Pal is a purebred chihuahua who weighs just 5 lbs. He is a sweet boy who enjoys going for walks around the neighborhood, cuddling in a lap, and running around with the other little dogs. He is not an alpha and is happy for another dog to be top dog. He is currently in a foster home with children ages 6 and 8 and he gets along very well with them. He has ignores all of the cats in his foster home. He has had a thorough dental cleaning and has been neutered. He is vaccinated and is current on heartworm and flea prevention. His housetraining has been excellent in his foster home.
